Hello friends!
We are featured in this week’s CityLife newspaper. Max Plenke wrote the article and conducted the interview and Bill Hughes did the photograph. This is the first time the publication has featured us.
I think it’s a very well written article and an interesting read, but I do think it nessisary to mention that some of the quotes they pulled from the two hour interview may seem a bit controversial when read out of the context of the conversation that we had with Max. I was quoted on saying the local music scene can be too “clicky”, but not on how we’ve been working with the community to diversify the scene through cross genre artistic collaboration. It has us beaming about the sound quality we get in the studio, but they left out the part about us helping produce other local artists and how we share the tools and resources we have with everyone we can. We probably said we love Vegas a dozen times, and reading the article it is almost hard to perceive that because that part was left out. I don’t suspect any amount of malice on CityLife’s part though. It’s tough work sorting through a pile of information and the last thing we want are for reporters to get soft on us. There is little we love more than real balanced reporting. Thus, we understand how a few overconfident opinions on our part may look and thought we needed to clarify our position. We weren’t hating on anybody and we got nothing but love for the community. We’re as proud of the Vegas scene as we are of ourselves. Viva Las Vegas and long live independent music!

All good things,
p.s.
I also did not mean to offend Arcade Fire. I am rather fond of my fellow Canadians’ work. They do what they do the best. ;)
